Should your kid be greedy (in Monopoly)?

What's up Reader,

Ramadan Mubarak! Our team sends you warm wishes for a happy and healthy Ramadan.

(We also hope your March Madness brackets are bountifully victorious.)

In today's essay, I reflect on how a silly game of Monopoly provided a critical (yet confusing) teaching opportunity with our 9 year old.

In this challenging economy, everyone is being asked to do more with waaaaay less. (Heck, Zuck announced it was Meta's "Year of Efficiency.") But how can you be efficient without careening into burnout? $10K Work is the perfect prioritization framework for this moment and you can purchase the self-paced version below.

BTW, we've been having some good fun over on Instagram.

Should your kid be greedy (in Monopoly)?

Last Friday I turned into a feral creature.

An innocent game night quickly took a dark turn.

Bringing back childhood desires, adult insecurities and the bloodsport of competition.

We were playing Monopoly.

And this guy showed up:

He was going to teach my 9-year-old an important life lesson.

New Yorkers

5 minutes | We're Gonna Get Those B*stards

What happens when you get the world’s smartest people and cram them into a 17-mile island? You get New York. And as someone born in the city (Stuy Town!) and who no longer lives there — I can relate to the energy, intensity, striving — and the delusional belief that everyone else in the world wants the same things and thinks the same way.

One of the cardinal rules of investing is: If it’s too good to be true — it probably is. When it comes to AI, I don’t think it falls in the “too good to be true” category. Yet. But it’s damn good. And I use it all the time. Yet I don’t want to be blind and naive about its limitations. And while I want to understand what is happening under the hood — I have no appetite for the super technical details.
